Conservative/Progressive - what's the diff?
Kos has picked up a new book and posted a very interesting essay about how Conservative and Progressive viewpoints differ, based on the ideas in Don't Think of an Elephant by George Lakoff.
It really hit home. How do I raise my kids? It's always been about fair play, community, empathy, striving. And it's always struck me how some families seem to emphasize winning vs. losing, and right vs. wrong.
And, according to Lakoff, that's why I'm a liberal. Fine with me.
