Ragamuffin's Journal asks "
Does it really matter?"
It matters. A lot.
It matters because politicians in both parties are corrupt - but the NeoCons that have taken over the Republican party are more than corrupt, they have an ideology that will lead to an incredibly destructive end.
It matters because the people - both Democrats and "real" Republicans - are waking up and realizing that the politicians have kept them out of the process for too long.
It matters because if we don't change the course now, our children will pay the price - assuming that there's something left for them in 20 years.
It matters because I believe this is our last opportunity to take our country back from the politicians and power players who hold the power. If the NeoCons have another 4 years to consolidate their power, another 4 years to use fear to control our people, and another 4 years to corrupt our 220-year-old tradition of representative democracy, the United States of America will stand for Power, Greed and War rather than Truth, Justice and the American Way.
And it matters because the Democrats seem to "get it". Gephardt and Graham didn't get the nomination or the VP nod - because they represent the old school. The Democratic party still has a large number of old school politicians - but they are being marginalized. A new wave is taking over, represented by Obama, and Edwards, and Terry Mcauliffe. The party is realizing the "liberal", "progressive" and "populist" aren't dirty words.

What's so wrong with that?
