Who cares about the treatment of Iraqi prisoners?
Not just commie pinko liberal leftist bleeding heart disloyal elitist Democrats.
Military lawyers do.
One of the JAG's jobs is to make sure that the military is acting in a legal manner, so that their fellow soldiers, captured by foreign militaries, will have a better chance of surviving their captivity. So for the last 2 years, JAG officers have been concerned that the ambiguous and misleading information coming from the political appointees in the Pentagon, including the now infamous memos, would put soldiers at risk. They even took the unprecendented step of contacting the New Yourk City Bar Association with their concerns, since they had been silenced by the Bush Administration.
NPR's Morning Edition ran a story this morning.
