The Highest Praise for a Politician I can think of.
Cokie Roberts was discussing the 9-11 commission with Bob Edwards this morning. Bob asked her about the charges of partisanship on the commission and her respose was that although there was a lot of contention on the commission, that both the chairman and vice-chairman were "Certified Grownups" and she expected that they would work toward a single report.
I can't think of many people in Washington I'd use that phrase for. High praise, indeed.
(BTW, this was Cokie's final Monday morning conversation with Bob. This week is going to be filled with people saying goodbye to Bob. Friday's going to be very strange).
