Remember how the left was split because of the Gore campaign's run to the center? (I blame his campaign, not Gore himself. Even he has admitted he'd rather have run his campaign more from the left).
The more fiscally irresponsible Bush is, the more he allows government to intrude upon our lives, the more "True Conservatives" will find it impossible to support him.
Add to that the religious right's disappointment that he didn't just come out and declare evangelical Christianity the law of the land, and you have the makings of a complete splintering of the right.
And then, on top of it all, the left's ABB unity....and we've got not only a Democratic White House, but very possibly, a Democratic Senate.
For me, this is the best, most balanced setup. A Democratic President with a majority in the Senate, and a House that has a slight majority the other way, means that we may have the checks and balances this country needs.
We can only hope.....
