It's no wonder we can't seem to ever actually make any real changes in this country.

The Prescription Drug Bill is a great example. Health care is an issue on which the Democrats usually have the upper hand, but....
Republicans want to pass a Prescription Drug bill to take the issue away from the Democrats.
Republicans don't want to pass a Prescription Drug Bill because they don't want to A) See Ted Kennedy in the Rose Garden and B) They really don't want to have the government help with prescription drugs (They're Republicans, after all).
Democrats want to pass a Prescription Drug Bill because it's the kind of thing Democrats want to do. And Kennedy knows that it's the right thing to do.
Democrats don't want to pass a Prescription Drug Bill because they want to be able to use the fact that a Prescription Drug Bill hasn't been passed during the 2004 election.
Oh, those poor politicians. Whither do they go?
(We miss Paul Wellstone. He never let politics get in the way of doing his job).
