He's strongly pro-choice, and his opionion on gun control? He said"If you really want an assult rifle, there's a place for you - The United States Military. We have them". And possibly most important for the campaign - he has strongly opposed BushCo's pushto war with Iraq.
This is a guy who has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom,A British knighthood, and the Legion d'Honneur in France, so clearlypeople think highly of him. He was in charge of the Kosovo conflict,and put his career on the line when he felt that the Pentagon wasn't giving him the right tools to do the job.
he's from the South. That means that he doesn't need to make policyconcessions to fend off attacks as a 'Yankee Liberal'. He's an charismaticand engaging speaker. And he's not afraid to make decisions.
BushCo should be worried.
