NPR is apparently
replacing Bob Edwards as host of "Morning Edition".
Bob Edwards has been hosting the show for 25 years. I want a clock that says "It's 29 minutes past the hour" and "It's 11 minutes before the hour" in Bob Edwards' voice -- it's my morning ritual!
He'll still be a sernior reporter, but it's not the same. The quote is "We just felt it was time for a change."
After 25 years!?!?!?!
The CNN report says he is being "forced out". I hope that's not really true, and that after all this time, he's finally tired of waking up at 1am 5 days a week. I like Steve Innskeep and Renee Montaigne, but mornings just won't be the same without Bob Edwards.
(although, I haveto admit - I always imagined him older and grizzled...his picture kinda threw me.)
