Well, the holidays were nuts, and all the free time I've had I've been working on the
Open Source Vulnerability Database, rather than my blog.
But there were a few things that caught my attention and I wanted to at least list them here. Most deserve more, but they're getting a few weeks old.
#1) Diebold is just getting into more and more trouble. First, An internal memo discusses
gouging customers who insist on paper backup, and then their
hiring practices come into question.
#2) A code auditing firm reported that the latest release of MySQL had 21 defects....in 230,000 lines of code. Their report indicates that this is
SIX times better than comparable commercial software, and they credit the Open Source process for the code quality.
#3) SCO sent all it's licensees a
letter to sign that basically says "You don't use Linux, you won't use linux, stay away from it"
