Gotta Admit, it was a class act
Under incredibly tight secrecy, Bush went to Baghdad yesterday to have Thanksgiving dinner with the troops.
Yes, it was a stunt. No, it didn't have any real impact.
But I'll bet the troops in Iraq are feeling better. Really. As much as I hate what we've done over there, having the President come in for Thanksgiving has to give the troops a lift.
And I understand the secrecy part. Baghdad would have been a bloodbath if the Bathists had known he was ANYWHERE in town.
Now, let's see if they can actually hatch a democracy by July. The way they're going about it, I doubt it.

Try looking at it this way. We were in Japan for 7 or 8 years. We are still in Germany. So it may take a few years. Look at what we have done so far. Liberated a people from one of the cruelist dictator's of modern times. Got 12-year olds out of prisons. Currently, re-building the physical infrastructure, not really from bombs, but from neglect.
Yeah, but remember, the way BushInc got the people to support this war was:
1-He is an immediate threat, and had WMD
2-We will be welcomed with open arms by the Iraqi people
3-We will be in and out in a matter of months.
#1 and #3 are obviously false. #2 is false for a significant number of Iraqis - whether even a small majority of Iraqis welcome us or not is debatable.
