An attack disguised as Spam
I just found a report of an attack on a financial services company that used a spam-like message and spyware to try to gather information from employees.Spyware is getting worse, and the proliferation of popup message spammers is really getting out of hand.
Don't EVER answer a popup message - better, stop the 'Messenger' service on your computer (That's not MSN messenger).
Use Antivirus (AntiVir and AVG Anti Virus are FREE and supported for personal use) and reputable spyware (AdAware [FREE] or Pest Patrol [$39.95]) on a regular basis to keep your machine clean.

How do you stop the Messenger service on an XP machine? I'd like to know.
Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services
Find Messenger
Stop it
Set it to not start on boot.
If you're not on a Corporate network that uses popups to tell you print jobs are done, there is NO REASON to run this. Another way Windoze installs insecurely.
